For the second year OSI Aikido's instructors gathered around the kitchen to share some aikido tips. The evening started off with some whale beef sashimi prepared by Jo, followed by Julie's delicious okonomiyaki. We are not sure if Jo caught the whale himself but the result was scrumptious.

For those of you who have never tasted okonomiyaki you are in for a treat. The batter is made of flour, grated nagaimo (a type of yam), water or dashi, eggs and shredded cabbage, with some shrimp and mussels tossed in for extra taste. Add dried bonito on top for the ultimate pancake/omelette experience.

The meal portion of the evening was topped off with a special version of Bananas Foster. And no we did not burn the house down, but the dog did run for cover after awhile.

Of course the evening wouldn't be complete without some sharing of aikido experience on the four mats in the living room aikido nook.

All in all a nice club tradition we hope to continue.
