Hi and welcome to OSI Fjell!
OSI's fjellgruppa was founded in 1963 and has between 80 and 120 members each semester, making it one of the largest of OSI's 32 groups. OSI Fjell arranges tours of varying degrees of difficulty, and each tour has a contact person who can give further information regarding the tour. Tours range from climbing, skiing, canoeing, hiking and social hut tours to telemarking, ice climbing and glacier walking. Courses are also periodically offered. In winter time there are weekly ski training sessions in Nordmarka (more information: ingrhjo@student.hf.uio.no), in summer time we take our running shoes.

General Information about OSI Fjells Tours
Mostly, the trips take place at the weekends. You can find an overview about all our trips, courses and other events at our website (www.osifjell.no). Unfortunately, our program ("Turprogram") is not fully translated into English, but the titles are in English here. You should join our mailing list - most emails are written in both Norwegian and English:

Every tour has a contact person. If you have a question regarding the tours difficulty or equipment requirements, contact him/her. Before each tour, the participants meet to discuss transportation, meals, equipment, etc.

Fjell Meetings (Fjellmøter)
OSI Fjell arranges several meetings during the course of the semester. These meetings are a great way to meet others interested in outdoor pursuits-perhaps people you've met on previous tours, or those you've never met before.

Membership
Membership carries several benefits with it. It enables you not only to join the tours, but also to borrow the clubs equipment, such as tents, helmets, crampons and ice axes (more information: h.h.wangberg@studmed.uio.no). Membership in OSI Fjell is 175 kroners per semester (100 kr goes to OSI Fjell, 75 kroners to OSI). You can do the registration online, all you need is an e-mail address and a MasterCard or Visa card: http://osimedlem.abile.no/registrer.aspx
As you can see, joining the group is a great way to get in touch with fellow outdoor enthusiasts in Oslo. It is a highly social club, and members are always very welcoming to newcomers who are quickly absorbed into the group. Welcome!
